Inventory all parts and inspect for damage. One of our exhaust tubes came with slight bend in the end of it that was easily knocked out with a tap from a hammer.
Remove the original exhaust. This step can be as tough as you want it to be. We opted to cut the original one out as it's not really a great candidate for storage or eBay. If you decide to keep your original exhaust some penetrating lubricant will go along way to making this job easier for you.
With the back end of the exhaust removed, remove the band clamp connecting the down pipe to the turbo. Do NOT discard this band clamp as it's required for reinstallation.
Remove the OEM down pipe hanger from the transmission bell housing. These parts will also be retained for the installation of the new exhaust.
Remove the spare tire, if you have one. In the case of our donor Dodge, the spare tire had been relocated for a goose neck trailer mount, and the goose neck the mount was surprisingly, in the way of the original exhaust system.
Attach the down pipe hanger to MBRP down pipe and use the OEM band clamp to attach the new down pipe to the turbo.
With the down pipe in place, the mid pipe is installed, followed by the muffler. The clamps are fitted loosely to holding the exhaust together while assembling.
The muffler is installed using the stock rubber mount points, with the open ends of the muffler's louvers facing the rear of the truck.
The tail pipe is installed to finish up the installation and the entire system is checked for correct alignment and fitment prior to using the MBRP supplied replacement clamps to lock it all into place.
Add your brand new polished stainless steel tip to finish off your newly installed exhaust system.

With the new 5" exhaust installed the only thing left to do is to take it on a test drive and we did. The new exhaust system really wakes up our Dodge Cummins with tire shredding performance. The sound is incredible and this installation is so easy, that it can easily be done on your driveway in less than an hour. MBRP has really done their homework with this fantastic exhaust system.
