The record which was last set in by a Dodge RAM SRT-10 was broken by a LS2 equipped V8 Maloo R8 Ute, setting the new speed at 271.44 km/h (170 mph). The run was conducted under strictly controlled conditions on the Federal Governments Woomera Prohibited Area in outback South Australia with HSV’s five time Australian Touring car and Bathurst winning champion Mark Skaife at the helm.
