New Jeep Compass Not A Wrangler ''Lite''

While there are certain aspects about all of Jeep's vehicles that make them appear similar, they are not always based off of the classic Wrangler.

"The 2007 Jeep Compass compact SUV isn't a scaled-down version of the brand's rugged Wrangler model, and it's not supposed to be. It's a new kind of Jeep, and a successful one.

The compact SUV blends classic Jeep styling elements -- the unmistakable grille and round headlights -- with urbane touches like a steeply raked windshield and flared rear fenders to make the rugged brand more appealing to city and suburban buyers," Detroit Free Press reports.
