Redkey, IN (August 21, 2006) "Go big or go home!" This phrase could easily be the theme for this year’s Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals, one of two major events presented by the Diesel Hot Rod Association (DHRA), the official sanctioning body for U.S. diesel motorsports. The Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals will bring to a close a record breaking race season in true Texas fashion, bigger than ever, on October 14 and 15 at the Houston Raceway Park. The park located near Houston at 2525 FM Rd, Baytown, Texas is a perfect venue to view the latest diesel innovation. If the thousands of fans that showed up for the Indiana Diesel Nationals are any prediction of the Houston turnout, then the Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals will be the biggest event yet for diesel racers. This two day event will feature everything amazing about light duty diesel trucks, bringing together all of the fastest, most exciting street legal trucks around. Watching diesels shoot off the line reaching speeds over 180 mph, or screaming your support for your favorite sled puller pulling 32,000 lbs down a 300-ft track, will be only a part of the Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals experience. Between the races, the vendor midway, and the burnout competitions, there will even be a chance for the kids to ride in the Sergeant Smash Monster Truck. This year DHRA has added to the excitement of a true Nationals event by hosting the first ever Barn Bash, a genuine Texas throw down party, featuring country music artist, Trent Willmon, known for such hit singles as On Again Tonight and A Little More Livin’. He will take the stage at the Barn Bash around 8 p.m. After a day of watching incredible drag races and burnouts by some of the fastest diesels in the nation, walking the vendor midway, or being awed by the incredible power of high torque sled pulls, why not hang around for the Barn Bash. It’s a perfect time to grab a cold beer and cheer for the best looking buns on stage at the Country Butts contest. Both girls and guys can register the day of the show to enter the Country Butts Contest at the main registration desk. Winners in both categories will walk away with $200 and year-long bragging rights. The only qualification needed is a crowd winning personality with the buns to match.
