Installing The GroundForce Drop Kit (Part Number 9933)

After getting the truck up in the air and removing the wheels, we start work on the front suspension by disconnecting the factory sway from the lower control arm.
After disconnecting the factory sway bar, disconnect the outer tie rod end from the spindle.
Remove the lower nut from the bolt that secures the strut to the lower control arm. The lower bolt was not removed yet as it is still under load from the strut.
Even though the directions didn't require it, we loosened the upper control arm tie rod end from the spindles.
To be on the safe side and keep from damaging the delicate ABS sensor, we removed it from the spindle.
With everything else disconnect, remove the lower bolt that secures the lower strut to the control arm.
Remove the three small retaining nuts from the top of the strut mount and remove the strut assembly from the vehicle. These steps must also be repeated on the other front strut as well.
With the strut off the vehicle, spring compressors are used to release the tension on the strut's end cap retaining nut, so that the cap can be removed and the strut can be safely disassembled.
With the strut assembly disassembled, you can easily see the height difference between the Groundforce's blue lowering springs on the left and Ford's factory OEM spring on the right.
With the strut's end cap retaining nut removed, the factory spring can be removed from the strut assembly and replaced with Groundforce's new lowering spring, using the spring compressors to enable us to put the strut assembly together.
