More in: Chrysler, Diesel, Dodge Chrysler LLC has temporarily canceled plans for a diesel engine for the Dodge Ram 1500 model pickup truck. Mark Land of Cummins commented on the reports, "We've been trying to rework development of the [light-duty diesel] engine over the last several months, given the current economic climate" and "this is not a surprise". Chrysler on the other hand have neglected to comment on the news. The reason for cancellation is being blamed on the terms with the new government owned Chrysler and their declaration of bankruptcy. All future plans have been put on hold.
