More in: Mitsubishi, Recall, Safety, SUV Mitsubishi have issued a recall of nearly 40,000 2008 to 2009 Outlander sport utility vehicles. The recall involves an incorrect material composition of the brake booster check valve that may cause the valve to stick closed even when the engine is off, causing an insufficient braking assist. The lack of brake assistance may increase the stopping distance of the vehicle, potentially leading to an increased risk of crash. Owners are encouraged to contact their local dealer as soon as possible via Mitsubishi at 800-222-0037.
