As part of their restructuring plan and trying to find alternative sources of income, Ford Motor Company are going after Ford enthusiast websites for copyright infringement of Ford trademarks which include everything from domain names, web banners, signs, and other merchandise. Their lawyers, Howard Phillips and Andersen Legal Firm, are also demanding these websites make a payment of $5,000 by December 19, 2008 and threatening a lawsuit of $100,000 for those who do not pay up. Ford is saying "the unofficial use of their trademarked names are damaging".

If you feel pissed off about this situation you can send Ford a nice email at their Public Affairs Department.
