For the moment let's ignore the fact that 50% of new 2005 Dodge Magnum owners are trading in their truck or SUV to get one of these new station wagons. This is not your parent's station wagon. This thing's got a HEMI!

I thought our old Ford station wagon with the wood paneling died with the invention of the SUV. While the budget SE model features a 190hp 2.7L V6, and the SXT comes with a 3.5L 250hp V6, the RT is the beast to get. The RT sports a 5.7L HEMI with 340hp and 18" wheels.

This thing looks damn cool, and already looks like it's chopped. I would love to see some 20" or 22" chrome wheels on it though. I'm not sure what the heck happened with DaimlerChrysler's design team when they came up with the updated 2004 Durango front end, but they sure hit the mark with this 2005 Magnum. I can't wait to see what the enthusiasts and aftermarket does with this thing.

Grab life by the horns, baby!
