Feds Wants New Truck Economy Standards

According to Inside Line, "The Bush administration is suggesting new, multitiered fuel economy standards for light trucks based on size but not weight, according to media reports.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration developed the proposal, which is being reviewed by the secretary of transportation. It would apply to pickup trucks, sport-utility vehicles and vans beginning as early as the 2008 model year."
