The unique automatic running board is triggered by an electronic signal from the trucks factory door sensors and extends to a convenient stepping height in about a second. A closed door sends the automatic running board retracting to the neatly concealed pocket behind your Rams OEM rocker panels, invisible as if it weren't even there. The proprietary four-bar linkage patented by AMP Research is what allows for the long-travel extension of this all-weather automatic step system.
