More in: Reviews, Exterior If you're not into the electric power steps on your truck, but would like a more rugged and practical installation, take a look at the wheel to wheel, solid-steel construction steps manufactured by N-Fab.
We have seen the rest of the steps out there. Some of them are just a chrome bar that hang several inches and may or may not even be straight on the truck. Dealerships install these sad little bars in bulk on your new trucks as they roll of the trucks and into the dealerships. These kits usually consist of a couple bolts, a brace or two and fantastic black plastic step that is somehow attached to a chrome bar in a place where it wont be used. These steps certainly don't do much for the look of your truck, they extend wheel to wheel for a uniform look, the don't hide your frame from view and they really don't protect the bottom of the truck from road debris, so why would you get them? You can use the excuse that if I finance these bars it only increases my payment $7.00 which might sound like a deal, but that's still $420 over the course of the loan - not really a bargain for something so ugly. N-Fab's NerfSteps™ are a great solution for this problem. For about the same price as the cheap looking chrome tubes with the plastic steps you can have solid-steel steps that tuck up snuggly to the body of the truck and feature welded on step hoops with no-slip metal steps.
These steps run the full length of the vehicle hiding exposed frame rail and come in a variety of different finish options including color matched paint, powdercoat and their newest option which is a chrome like powdercoat finish. These steps look great, are tough and install in minutes and N-Fab has bolt on kits for most late model trucks and SUV's on the road today. If you don't have a lifted truck or don't need a step, N-Fab has you covered there too. N-Fab's Harley Bars feature the same construction method as the NerfSteps, minus the step hoops, and are a quick and stylish way to add a little protection to the bottom of your truck while making it appear lower.
