More in: Suspension Superlift, maker of aftermarket lift kit's announced the availability of their lifts for the 2005 Ford SuperDuty Truck, which features a completely new suspension package. The large bulky front leaf springs are history for Ford's monster work truck and in their place is a all new four link link suspension and coil spring system. Ford didn't replace the solid axel with IFS (thank god) but they did make it difficult for the Lift Manufacturers by replacing just about everything about the front suspension.
Superlift, out of West Monroe, Louisiana, posted a press release yesterday stating that they now have a complete line of lifts for this brand-new suspension setup. From 1" leveling-kit's to 8" off-road madness kits, Superlift's got you covered. Superlift's one inch kit, which is simply a one inch urethane spacer that can be used to adjust ride height and will usually compensate for those massive bumpers and winch combinations that off-road trucks are famous for but after that, lift options start to get a little tricky. According to Superlift, because of the new suspension and the nature of a four link system, simply adding length to the links does not produce the correct driveline angle. Superlift estimates that Ford's new radius arm suspension design is very sensitive to caster change and looses as much as 3 degrees for every 2 inches of lift. Superlift's lift design's incorporate a unique Caster Bracket Alignment system which allows to correct the alignment issues presented by the additional lift. Other available options include a dual shock steering stabilizer kit, Torque-Max Traction Bars which counter act axle-wrap, Rail Wraps brushed-stainless steel frame panels and much more.
