According to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) published their annual "Green Book", which is a guide that ranks vehicles according to their impact on the environment. Vehicles with the least environmental impact score a green rating, those that kill small trees and bushes idling rate as a mean vehicle.

Two of Ford's SUV's were able to score high in both the greenest categories and the meanest. The Ford Escape Hybrid came in at number 11 for being one of the greenest vehicles available meaning that the only impact this vehicle will have on the environment is the percentage of road-kill the owners generate as they drive around.

The Ford Excursion rolled in at number 2 in the meanest category, right behind Dodge's SRT10 truck and just before the Hummer H2, meaning that the owners of this massive SUV can kill vegetation and wildlife just by starting it up in the morning.
