More in: Off-Road, Racing Most guys out there, especially the gear-head type, have a few fundamental things that appeal to them. Here at Truckblog we try to cater to those needs as much as possible with our continuous coverage of the truck industry and a few other novel ideas such as cool feature trucks, truck related articles and several hot models splashed in here and there. Heck, if we could pour you a beer we would!
Anyway, the point is that one of the things gear heads love, is racing. Now, most of our fans are pretty excited about NASCAR, and who can blame them but NASCAR's truck series is exactly televised very often (unless you subscribe to the speed channel) and if it is televised, you can be sure it will be used to fill some unallocated spot between 2 and 6am. With that, we turn our attention to the most grueling challenge for a truck on the face of the planet, off-road desert truck racing. Now, some can say that rock-crawling and mud-bogging is much harder on the truck, and to a degree that's certainly true, but to have a truck AND driver that can handle several brutal hours, driving in excess of 100+ miles an hour, over bumpy & dusty terrain in extreme temperatures that would make you sweat just thinking about, in our books makes desert racing the toughest off-road challenge known to man and machine.
If you are like us and could spend literally hours watching these races, have we got a place for you. Check out the media archives at DesertRides.com! Tons of video, pictures, press releases, racing results and much, much more! Check out the build up of Robbie Gordon's Trophy Truck. Understand why companies like Donahoe Racing really know how to make a superior off-road suspension. Chat with the guys who actually race their trucks through the desert in their forum. There is so much off-road video and pictures that you could literally spend hours watching it all. We did! Check Out DesertRides.Com... Check out their videos...
