Ford Motor Company announced they will be offering buyouts once again to hourly employees in Michigan and Ohio, as the company struggles to downsize and cut production. Ford already made buyout announcements in Ohio and Kentucky earlier this year and beginning July 28, employees in the following plants can take advantage of the buyout offers: Michigan Truck, Wayne, Flat Rock, Rouge site, Livonia Transmission, Woodhaven Stamping, Rawsonville, Cleveland Site, Ohio Assembly, Walton Hills Stamping, Sandusky, Sterling Axle, Romeo Engine, and finally Van Dyke Transmission. Unlike the previous buyouts, the new ones beginning at the end of the month are voluntary. Ford is hoping to cut 15 percent of its North American salaried work force and have not announced a target for the operation. Buyout packages are the same as previously announced.
