Primedia, the publisher for the Truckin', The Worlds Leading Truck Publication and Ebay, the worlds first and largest online auction house have teamed up to support the Charity Cars (http://www.800charitycars.com) organization by organizing the Primedia Editors Charity Challenge.

Ten teams, each from a different magazine that Primedia produces, were given $25,000 for their project with the following stipulations. The Truck must appear stock after the monster crew is done... no wait, that's the wrong show... The vehicle must be purchased from Ebay motors, and then 75% of the remaining 25K must be spent on parts through Ebay motors. We will see how they do. Currently none of the teams have anything done other than the initial purchase. Once the build is completed, the vehicles will be auctioned off and the proceeds for this incredible advertising opportunity for Ebay and Primedia will be donated to the Charity Cars organization. Sounds pretty cool!

The Editors of "Custom Trucks" were able to snag this awesome 97 Chevy C1500 for their base truck at a cool $11,550, which was already modified with a 2K Cadillac front clip, a poorly done air suspension, several interior mods and a couple of other nifty add ons. With the additional 13.5K the team will swap the air suspension for a bolt on drop kit and change the existing 20's and tread for a sweet set of 20's in the front and 22's in the rear. Changing the interior from it's previous tweed & vinyl combo to leather is a no brainier and several performance mods will also be thrown into the mix. Their motto for the truck - "It'll take first place and your girlfriend." which is kinda cocky, but we all like that.
