With the size of the wheels and the amount of lift installed on this high rolling monster, getting the wheels to turn efficiently becomes an issue. Benfield equipped Godzilla with a set of 4.88 gears to combat the excessive axle weight and resistance. The Expedition came equipped with Ford's 5.4L V-8 powerplant, so adding a few bolt-on performance parts was the power theme Benfield went with. Starting out the performance upgrades the intake was exchanged for a K&N Gen II Cold Air Intake, followed by a Granatellli Mass air flow sensor, BBK throttle body and a Ported and polished intake elbow. A high-output fuel pump, 24 lbs fuel injectors and Ignition Solutions Plasma Booster were added to make a bigger bang in the cylinder. A set of Gibson stainless steel headers, Magnaflow hi-flow catalytic converters and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers were also employed to allow the bigger bang to be expelled quickly and gracefully. Additional bolt-on upgrades include a Troyer Performance dual electric fan kit and ASP Power pulleys and a custom tuned SuperChip Flip-Chip that teaches the engine how to best use this new found power. The combination of engine upgrades and final-drive gear ratio allows Godzilla to put a healthy 350 HP and 340 lb-feet torque to the rear wheels which is impressive to say the least. While no major engine modifications have been done yet, judging by the fuel ratio gauges, the 24 lbs injectors and the high-flow fuel pump, we think that Kevin is possibly preparing his big green monster for a helping of belt driven, forced air induction.

Having addressed performance and suspension needs so far, we turn to the exterior of this reptilian themed truck where Benfield has done the most notable changes to this truck. Godzilla, as the name of this feature suggests, is the theme and that is very obvious from looking at the truck. Painted by James "Liquid Wizard" Quevedo of Carmichael, CA., the Godzilla themed truck depicts wicked yellow and green flames that lick across the Reflexxion's Cobra hood, the fender flares and across torn metal edges depicted in the paint. Quevedo further customized this pain job by adding an intricate mural spanning the Expedition's back door showing Godzilla (the sci-fi creature) returning to the ocean while Godzilla (Benfield's Expy) watches on. Other external upgrades to the truck include a billet grille, custom lighting, TYC's Harley style headlights and a host of other items, which round out the overall customized exterior of this SUV nicely.
