More in: Nissan Nissan's Xterra, which was introduced in 1999 with it's physical advertisements promoting this somewhat small but effective off-road platform, has done well in sales in the US market and has constantly been upgraded to make this vehicle more and more the choice of the physically active younger people to which it appeals. The fact is that this vehicle has been designed with a purpose similar to that of the Jeep Cherokee and Older Ford Bronco IIs, which is a smaller vehicle, capable off-road with plenty of inside storage space.
Dubbed "A gear-Friendly Toolbox-on-wheels" by Bengt Halvorson of the "The Car Connection" in his review of the '05 Xterra, the Nissan earned it's stripes with it's abundance of features and abilities, all for a relatively low base cost (Under 30K), when compared to the other SUV's available and its good to know that Nissan hit their mark on producing a relatively inexpensive off-road SUV geared towards the younger crowd. The review covers all the creature comfort, performance and construction aspects of Nissans versatile driving toolbox, but lacks in actual off-road and driving tests or comparisons. It's a good review and it's certainly contains enough information for you to make an informed decision about keeping or scratching the Xterra from your list of up-coming potential new vehicles.
