Removing the heavy steel clutch fan from your 2003 to 2008 Cummins diesel equipped Dodge Ram, sounds like a strange way to make more horsepower and torque. Yet, Flex-A-Lite’s testing shows that significant performance can be gained this way, by reducing the load on the engine while improving on the cooling system for improved towing and fuel economy.

Flex-A Lite’s new fan system #264 for the Dodge Ram, maximizes your engine’s cooling capacity by first replacing the heavy clutch fan with two 15-inch diameter, high-performance and reliable S-Blade fans. These fans are manufactured from Flex-A-Lite’s unique injection molded, glass reinforced nylon, making them strong, yet flexible enough to withstand extreme vibration and heat. When combined with a low-profile brushed aluminum fan shroud that also houses the factory overflow tank and coolant reservoir, the system provides improved cooling while dramatically reducing engine load.

Furthermore, Flex-A-Lite’s #264 fan system comes with the company’s VSC, Variable Speed Control module that that monitors coolant temperature and adjusts fan speed to match cooling demand. The system is also a direct replacement for the factory fan and shroud and requires no drilling and bolts onto the factory locations. Not recommended when the combined gross vehicle weight exceeds 18,000 pounds.
