More in: Ford, Recall The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) started preliminary investigations on America's most popular full size truck and Ford's similarliy equipped Expedition and Licoln Navigator after numerous complaints of engine fires have been filed.
The investigation spans more than 644,000 vehicles from the 2000 model year and comes after 36 reports of engine fires that might be related to a malfunctioning cruise control switch. Each fire occurred when the vehicles were parked and the engines turned off.
