Last month we reported that the Land Rover won the Motor Trend "Bribe of the Year" award for the SUV class. Today Motor Trend announced the winner of the truck class, the Toyota Tacoma.

Pitted against the Dodge Dakota, Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty, Hummer H2 SUT, and the Nissan Frontier, the editors consulted the marketing department to determine that Toyota Motor Company spent more in advertising dollars this past year in Motor Trend and Truckin than Dodge, Ford, AM General, and Nissan. The tests which followed were just a formality, and something to keep the editors busy. In all seriousness, our congratulations go to Toyota. It is well deserved.

On a related note, Truckblog is now taking bribes for our upcoming 2005 Bribe of the Year award. Bribes welcome.
