Installation Steps

The first step for installing the StreetGlow tailgate strip, is to prepare the surface where you will install the strip. The mounting surface mus be clean of oil, dirt, wax, etc before you start. You may use the alcohol prep pad provided or your own.

Position the L.E.D strip in the area below the tailgate with the wires coming out the left side of the strip. Measure the area below your tailgate, finding the center point, and mark that center. Then, measure the L.E.D strip itself and mark its center.

Next, peel off the protective backing of the adhesive mounting tabs. Center your lines with the mark you made on your tailgate, and mount the L.E.D strip by pressing firmly to assure a good bond to the truck.

Electrical Hookup

For vehicles with a 4 wire flat trailer connector, the L.E.D strip comes with a 4 wire male flat trailer connector. For easy installation, simply plug your connector into the trailer hitch adapter. If your vehicle has a different connector from the one provided, specific connectors can be purchased from auto parts stores such as Kragen or Autozone.

And you're done!

The tailgate strip also gives you the option of hard wiring the strip, if desired. The following image is a diagram of the provided connector.
