More in: Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, General Motors, GMC, Hyundai, SUV, Toyota As the count down begins till Super Bowl XLII this Sunday between the New England Patriots and New York Giants, the best part of watching the big game are the commercials, (and free beer of course). We've composed a list of the automotive commercials you will see during the Sunday showdown. Whoever's idea it was to incorporate Richard Simmons into a Super Bowl commercial, please, please, please, do not torture us again! General Motors Corporation: You can expect an ad for the new hybrid Yukon, Cadillac and GMC brand trucks. "It's not celebrities or talking animals. It's not very funny. It's a very simple, quiet ad with an impactful message," said Mary Kubitskey, GMC national advertising manager, about a piece of animation used during the ad. Cadillac is also sponsoring the MVP award and will showcase a hybrid Escalade on the field. Toyota Motor Corporation: Toyota plans to showcase their 2009 Corolla and 2008 Sequoia. No details have been announced regarding the commercial. Ford Motor Company Having the best selling pickup truck for 31 years is not an easy task, and Ford wants to continue their legacy by aiming one of their commercial slots at the new 2009 F-150 pickup. They will also feature two other commercial spots, displaying the new Focus sedan as well as Sync hands-free infotainment technology, exclusively from Microsoft. Too bad they didn't go with Apple's Mac... Chrysler LLC Chrysler is apparently taking a different approach in the advertising game this year, by not offering any advertising at all during the Super Bowl. No Dodge Challenger teasers? Come on! Audi of America Audi of America announced they will be promoting their wicked R8 sports car for the first time in over 20 years. The commercial will reference "The Godfather" movie series (sorry, no Al Pacino in this one) and will only air twice on tv, ever. Audi of America stated earlier this week "Audi selected The Godfather as a thematic foundation for its Super Bowl ad because the film expresses the idea of a new power rising in an established hierarchy". Sounds intense; well it must be, since it involves the R8-did I mention this car was cool? Hyundai Hyundai will be promoting their new luxury car, the Genesis, where it will be compared to other cars like Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus (if that's even possible?). Cars.com "Confidence comes standard" apparently with Cars.com and their 30 second ad. Taking place at a dealership, the ad features a geeky guy on a sales lot initiating his version of "plan B" during a transaction with a sales associate, which involves some crazy warrior.
