Care & Cleaning

The mildew resistant BedRug foam will not absorb liquids. The engineered polypropylene fiber top surface resists stains and deterioration from acids, chemicals, gas and oils, etc. Therefore, by following the cleaning instructions below, your BedRug will remain serviceable for as long as you own your truck.

Cleaning your BedRug is easy:

1. A vacuum, broom, brush or compressed air can be used to remove dirt, grime,
sand, mulch etc. Due to the fact that water will not harm the BedRug, pressure
washing is also an effective way to clean a soiled BedRug.

2. Although acids will not harm the BedRug, baking soda should be applied
immediately to neutralize the acid to ensure the safety of the paint on the truck.

3. To clean tougher jobs such as gasoline, oil, chemicals, acid spills or leaks from your BedRug use detergent soap and water, then rinse thoroughly. This
detergent soap is used in most car wash locations with pressure washing
equipment. The BedRug polypropylene closed-cell foam will not absorb water
and the polypropylene fiber dries in minutes.

Removal, Re-Installation, and Moving Your BedRug

Sometimes it makes sense to completely remove your BedRug. For example, you are hauling a heavily payload of rocks, or garbage such as broken glass. You don't want to risk damaging your BedRug. Or, you bought a new truck and you'd like to move it from your old truck to your new truck. Not a problem.

If you are temporarily removing your BedRug and need to re-attach it at a later time, carefully remove your BedRug by detaching it from the hook fastener strips in your bed. Cover your hook fasteners that are attached to your bed with masking or packaging tape (it helps to clean the surrounding area with rubbing alcohol first) to prevent damage while the BedRug is removed.

If you are moving your BedRug from one truck to another, then you will need to contact Wise Industries (contact information is below) to obtain a new set of hook fasteners for a small cost.
