More in: Events, Diesel, SEMA, Toyota At this year's SEMA Show, Toyota had a nice surprise for all of us big truck fans; a 2008 Toyota Tundra Diesel Dually CrewMax concept. Toyota tells us, "This fantasy Tundra was built to accommodate a Hino eight-liter inline six high-torque powerplant, mated with an Eaton five-speed manual transmission. Exterior cues include a Crewmax cab joined to a 6'5" bed, 22.5-inch wheels custom made by Alcoa, a diamond plate-lined bed and a charcoal gray metallic flat paint treatment. Inside, the truck features a hand-sewn ginger-colored full leather interior with wool carpets and suede headliner. The Tundra Diesel Dually is a study in contrasts that demonstrates Toyota's commitment to exploring new ideas." Check out this great article from Mike Levine that gives you all the nitty gritty details on how this beast came to be. Our photos are below and on the next few pages.
