Installation of the S6206304 Pro Series Turbo Back System
1. Install the Down Pipe in the same position as the stock down pipe and attach the flared end to the turbo using the stock band clamp. Do not fully tighten until all components are in place.
2. Attach the Mid Pipe to the Down Pipe using a 3.5" Clamp to secure the slip joint. As noted, we chose to use a 3.5" SS Band clamp in lieu of a regular clamp.
3. Attach the CAT Test Pipe to the Mid Pipe by placing the gasket supplied between the flanges and installing the two nuts that were removed previously. If a CAT Test Pipe is not used, the factory CAT will be installed in its place using the same method.
4. Install the Extension Pipe over the CAT Test Pipe. If retaining the CAT the Extension Pipe is installed to the catalytic converter in the same manner. The extension Pipe provided is pre-cut for the crew cab long bed configuration. All other configurations will require this pipe to be cut.
- Extended cab short bed cut to 15 ¾"
- Crew cab short bed cut to 29"
- Extended cab long bed cut to 31"
5. Install the Muffler Delete Pipe or MBRP's High Performance Flow Through Muffler over the Extension Pipe. The "T" Hanger Clamp is used at the connection between the Muffler Delete Pipe or Muffler (if used) and installed into the OEM rubber hanger at this position. When using 4" SS Exhaust Band Clamps, the "T" Hanger Clamp is slid forward towards the cab over the slip joint and hung in the OEM hangers.
6. Install the Tail Pipe from the rear of the truck, over the axle and attach to the Muffler Delete Pipe outlet or the Muffler outlet (if muffler is used). Install the tail pipe hanger into the OEM hanger, and then adjust for best axle clearance, shock clearance, and Tail Pipe exit location.
7. Install the provided clamps or exhaust band clamps around the pipes where needed. Adjust the Tail Pipe and check along the length of the exhaust system to ensure that there is adequate clearance around the fuel/brake lines or any wiring that might contact the exhaust. If any interference is detected relocate or adjust the system until proper clearance is achieved.
8. Once the exhaust is in place, fully tighten all clamps. Start at the front of the exhaust system and work towards the rear.
9. Install and adjust the Exhaust Tip to suit. Using a 17mm wrench, tighten the lock bolt located on the Tip. We used the optional 6" Dual Wall Angled Tip in lieu of the 5" Tip that is provided with the Pro Series Systems.
Tip: Upon completion of the installation wipe off any grease or residue on the exhaust in order to prevent it from baking in once the truck is started.
Without a doubt MBRP's Exhaust System lives up to its name. From the flawless mirror finish on the Pro-Series System, to the smooth bends which facilitates unrestricted air flow, to the unbelievable sound generated from a free flowing exhaust. Flip the high idle switch and it sounds like an F-18 taxing down the runway. Punch the throttle and it sounds like an angry big block thundering down the drag strip. All of this is achieved without excessive noise in the cab. One can easily carry on a normal conversation throughout the RPM range. All the sound is directed outside where it belongs.
