Tired of freezing your ass off at the top of a snowy mountain in sub-human temperatures, forced to put on those 20 pound chains to get to your cabin before sundown? Evidently the folks over at Southwest Spectra in Albuquerque, New Mexico have. So they came up with the female-friendly "Spikes Spiders" as an alternative to chains or cables.

Once the "locking disk" is secured to the vehicle's wheel, just snap on the "traction arms" and in 30 seconds and you're off and stomping through the snow like Bigfoot. Prices range from $300 to $400, so they are a tad bit on the expensive side, but if you live in a snowy environment, perhaps this snap-on traction solution is the way to go for you. Check it out at spikes-spiders.com. If you haven't seen these before, they're worth a quick look.
