The staff here at Truckblog has always been borderline nerdy with our tech-savvy posts, I mean who doesn't love when new fangled technology makes it from our PC's into our automobiles? If you want recent proof of this, one doesn't need to look much further than Friday's Beerblog post featuring customizable MP3 sounds for your car alarm.

Ford's new Sync system is the result of a partnership between Ford and Microsoft and features technology such as Bluetooth, voice-commands, steering wheel controls and the ability to plug USB devices such as an Ipod, Zune, and a USB thumb drive right into the center console for use with the vehicles audio system. If that wasn't enough, if you have an internet enabled Smartphone, you can stream internet radio to your car stereo right through your Bluetooth connection - pretty cool stuff!

For a video featuring some behind the scenes features of this system installed in Ford's new EDGE Crossover, check out the video below.

More information can be found on the Jalopnik Automotive website, and also on Ford's Sync site.
