Ford Moves 2009 F-150 Launch Date To November
Ford Motor Company have moved the release date of the 2009 F-150 pickup truck one month earlier from December 2008 to November 2008, in efforts to increase sales of the new pickup since gasoline prices have dropped from all time highs experienced this past July. Ford's executive vice president of marketing and communications, Jim Farley, stated "The sell-down of old models has progressed faster than we thought" and that new 2009 F-150s are currently "on their way to Ford dealers already". Ford made the efforts to push the F-150 launch early in response to Chrysler and their new Dodge Ram pickup truck which launched last month and would like to grab market share away from Chrysler.
