Don't have the time or extra cah to get down to Cali.....would love to make the trip,my fiance's mom lives near San Diego. You should show it more....the very first show I took Nemesis to I had a guy from Cali offer me $150,000 and she was only about a day old. You never know who's in the crowd.Only reason I did not sell her was that I had spent over five years working on it and never got a chance to drive it finished.....I was also wanting to use her for advertising what our shop was capable of.Any way like you say it sure is nice driver when you know how to run her.
Autographs.....thats funny.....I'm just a guy in Washington who loves what he builds.I just like to see peoples faces light up when I drive something I built down the road, but thanks for the slap on the back!

new guy here. cant say i know any of the players here, but i did read the entire story about the trucks history on the link. My hat is off to you Rick. the truck is true master craftsmans work of art.
whosthatcowboy what is the chance of running the truck across the block again? I watched the Mecum auction a couple of weeks ago and almost all the vehicel with a true history were going for over $100K.

Hi New Guy!!! You're right about the Mechum auction doing well... Actually the auctions in Monterey did very well in August also We'd considered taking the Nemesis to the Barrett-Jackson acution in Las Vegas next month... BUT, I wanted to see if I could find someone on this blog site rather than going across the auction block ... Here's my perspective... We'd have to pay transportation, expenses to be at the auction and the seller's commission... The buyer will have to pay another 8% buyers commission on top of the purchase price... So, how about the idea of selling it to someone that already knows the truck, enjoys the truck, hasn't been beaten up for drooling on the truck.... and really wants the truck??? Great Idea I think!!! AND, rather than paying all the commissions to Barrett-Jackson.. (seller & buyer) ... I can 'donate' a nice portion to Rick's new home projects as well as cover the seller's investment... Sounded like a better idea to me anyway... So get out there and shake the trees to find the buyer... Or I may have to consign it to an auction in Scottsdale to shake up things...
Reasonable Offers are considered right here!!!!

I agree it was a good idea to look here first. Yes the auction fees can at times get a little outragious. Just was wondering since the auctions seamed be doing well you might actualy be able to hit or exceed your target price (win / win for everyone.) best of luck. if i win the lottery i will be calling.

You can't win if you don't play!!! Go get your lottery ticket today!!!

The auction idea is a consideration... I'd like to deal with an auction company that actually 'wants' to have the truck in the sale.. rather than a company that is just looking at 'roll it up, roll it off' ... The truck needs to get the correct marketing out well before the sale... I've talked to a couple of auction companies already...
Once it's consigned then it'll be un-available in the 'private treaty' world.. Hopefully someone comes forward with a nice offer here...

I sure appreciate all the positive responses to the truck... I know that Rick deserves the credit and I'm sure glad to see he came out of hiding to see what people still think about this work of art that he built... with all of his friends...
I would figure that owning this truck would be like winning the lottery also... NICE!!!!

Happy New Year!!! Several months into it... Just wanted to say Hi to everyone and mention that the Nemesis is nice and warm in the garage down here in San Diego... Still waiting for a lucky 'lottery winner' to show up and drive it home...
I might have the time to get the truck out a few times myself and show it at some of the SoCal hot rod events.. Even with the economy like it is, great collectible vehicles are still in demand ...
Hope everyone on the Truckblog is doing well ....
If any of you get the this part of the country and want to see 'Rick's Nemesis' ... let me know!!

In terms of getting it out and about and seen this year, you might try to make the Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knotts Berry Farm (mid-April), the Cruisin' for a Cure show at the OC Fairgrounds (late September), and the F-100 West Coast Nationals Show this year. They all get plenty of magazine/photo coverage, and that truck would certainly attract photographers.

Great ideas... Thank You!! I'll look into getting the truck registered for the Mid-April show if I can find information on who to contact... The other shows might fit my schedule also but I'll have to wait and see what else is going on in my business world..

Hey Cowboy!! If I were you I would deffinetly make the F-100 Nats a priority!I wanted to take Nemesis to F-100 nats when they were in Tennesee but I could not get the time to go. When they changed the F-100 nationals to the west coast Nemesis was gone. I'm pretty sure if you took her to the nationals she would clean up.....maybe even win the coveted F-100 of the year award....that would be a feather in her cab!Anyway I hope like you that someone would buy her and drive her like she is supposed to be driven.Crap if I still owned her I know she would have over 20,000 miles on the odometer by now.

I'd love to take the Nemesis to the F-100 show since it's never been... How do I find out when and where??? I already printed the entry forms for the show at Knott's Berry Farm, I'll check out the link for the Cruisin For A Cure ...
How do I get in touch with you Rick??? My e-mail address is auctiondw@aol.com ....
I talked to Steve a few days ago, he knows that I have a 'soft spot' for this truck... He doesn't mind if I take it to any shows since I look after it... he'd probably enjoy seeing it get another trophy!!
Anyone know when the F-100 show is??? Maybe Rick can get there also...

Thank You for the link and information on the F-100 WesternNationals.... The only issue I see is the date, I may be on tour with a load of race cars... if that's the case I'll have to get someone else to get the Nemesis to the show... I'm going to pay on line tomorrow and get the registration done now in the hopes that I'll be available for the show.
I know I'm going to get a few offers now to take the Nemesis out for a 'truck date' if I'm busy in June...

Maybe June 20th is a good time for you to fly to California... The 19th is a cruise that goes to the NHRA Museum in Pomona... The back to the show grounds in Anaheim... If I'm in town I'll take my toterhome and the Nemesis in the stacker trailer... I know "she" isn't a trailer queen!!! But I want to stay in my toter at the RV park ... much easier than staying in hotels...

Just to help with locating the show location on a map - Featherly park is right at the intersection of the 91 freeway and the 241 tollway.

There are usually well over 100 F-100's at the show, with maybe 1 or 2 late model trucks.

Two years ago they were silkscreening (large!) show logo's on felt, and having Pat Ford autograph them for everybody. Lots of magazines (including Truckin') were there.

The only downside this year is that the local F-100 club President just recently died rather suddenly. I am sure they will do some things at the show in his honor. He was a nice guy - I got to meet him a couple times, and I'd say that in general the F-100 folks are all pretty welcoming.

Thank You for the location help... I looked up the map on their website to see where it's at also... I would think there would be more F-100's at a National show....

I suppose there could have been more - that number was just from memory.

But even though it's a National (West Coast) show, I think there just aren't that many of those trucks still around...

Personally I thought the turnout for basically a single model was pretty good.

FFF, for example, is for ALL Fords, regardless of age, style, or condition (although most cars are in good/restored condition). They have 1800 or so every year (top years over 2000, lowest years 1600). And that's the largest single marque show in the country.

Fab Fords Forever!!! Hey Rick, didn't the Nemesis win 'Best Ford' at an All Ford show??? Is the FFF show the one?? That show is a little too far for me to make in June...

Nemesis won a few all ford shows here in Washington state but the award I think you talking about was the Best Ford in a Ford award from Ford Racing in 2005.Nemesis was the first winner of that award and was picked from all the GoodGuys car show events of 2005.....each show had it's own Ford in a Ford pick and then at the seasons end they selected a winner from all the events.I won a Ford Racing 351 crate motor from Ford Racing. I've heard of the FFF show.....might have to take the 64 Falcon that Christina and I are building?

Did you put the 351 crate in the Falcon you're building now?? I wouldn't mind going to the FFF either but it's around the same time as the F-100 Western Nationals here in So Cal...
I think thats the award I remember you telling me about when I 'bought' the Nemesis ... You also mentioned another award, the Nemesis was the third winner of the award... and the first truck. Steve has most of that information someplace, there's an envelope under the front seat with some of the magazines you sent him...

The other award I think you are talking about was the Jason Rushforth award for best concieved design and paint for 2004 at the Mild to Wild show in Tacoma Wa. .The first two winners where both cars that broke Barret Jackson auction price records for customs, the first was the 39 Zepher out of Green acres Wa. in 03.I think that one went for around two and half thousand and the second was an Chrysler Airflow from Spokane Wa. in 04. that went for over 400 thousand! That was class of car that NEMESIS wsa in.....to bad it got such a lousey rush through on the block.....I'm sure that if they would have played it up a little more she would have gone for much more. The F-100 that went through before me was in no way in the same caliber as NEMESIS and went for over 200 thousand ......had no where near the work and craftsmenship that NEMESIS had.....but they played the crap out that truck while it rolled onto the block.

That's the award I remember you telling me about!!!
You're right about being rushed thru on the block... I didn't understand why it went thru so fast other than the fact that they were running a little behind ... The Ford 'Anniversary' truck that went thru before the Nemesis was the one I was supposed to buy for my client ... After he saw the Nemesis he was happy that I didn't get the other one bought since it wasn't anywhere in the same league of quality as the Nemesis!!!

Dang If only I played the lottery I would drive that thing. Heck I bet I could even get instructions on how to do it
I really wish I had saved it going across the block glowing GREEN.
I went back and watched that a ton of times.

It's not too late!! Go buy your lottery tickets today... you never know when 'your numbers' will roll up!! There's not many 'instructions' involved with driving the Nemesis ... give her a gentle pat on her 'tailgate' ... get in and let her warm up. She likes a nice drive around the neighborhood and an occasional good spanking on the throttle!!!
Like all the lottery advertising says... "You can't win if you don't play!!!"
