That'll work. If you can find a constant hot under the dash, you can run the yellow to that, eliminate a bunch of extra wire trailed all over.

Riddle me this.

When cruising and I floor it in 4th and 5th I start getting white smoke out the tail pipes, as soon as I slow down it stops smoking. But when I'm slowing down it gives a nice backfire, usually just once.

It did this before I changed the plugs too....coolant looks good and stays level, oil look's good and clean. I'm thinking the timing is off some and/or hopefully not but possible a bad ring.

The old plugs all looked good.

Time for a compression test. I'm thinking perhaps head gasket or a crack in the head or cylinder block that 'pushes' coolant during high pressure.

For what it's worth - you really shouldn't floor it in 5th. Downshift out of 5th, THEN floor it!

Does it white smoke in all the other gears when yuo floor it? Is it only when its cold?
