I recently downloaded 7. Haven't installed it anywhere yet.

How do you like it... So far? Any gotcha's to report? What security suite are you using?

Inquiring minds want to know.

There doesn't to be an increase in speed over Vista but I guess the faster the computer you build you see less increase & mines pretty damn fast. The learning curve isn't to much...yes..the task bar has changed & a few other minor things but it installed flawlessly. I'm running the the free microsft security essentials thinking maybe since its their operating system their security side wouldn't drag it down as much as others. I don't even know its there so I guess its working fine. I totally am in love with this monitor...SWEET is all I can say.

I've been running Windows7 for about the past two months at work (guess where I work...) and quickly liked it over Vista and XP (not that that's a hard thing to do!).

I got a copy of Window7 Ultimate and installed it last week on the now-former Vista machine. I haven't done any benchmark testing or anything even close to scientific but the system does seem quite a bit faster. The Mrs. said that she liked the new computer (it's the same one, only faster). Not sure if it's faster because the system was flattened and rebuilt or simply because of 7. Either way - it's faster and I'm happier with it.

I really like the new Aero interface with some of it's tricks. My favorite is the snap feature where you can 'swing' a window to the left and another to the right and they snap together in the middle of the screen (24" in my case) and you've got two windows open side-by-side without having to go through the resizing and moving routine.

I know many folks here don't like MSFT and that's fine. But 7 is a definate step in the right direction.

I've been running Win 7 since the Beta version was released, now I've upgrade from XP to Home Premium on my new machine. I do notice the start up time is much faster than Vista or XP and like Rick I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Just got 7. I like it a lot. Simple and no fluff.
