Ive never been to any Marti Gras. Came within 3 days of the one in Venice, Italy about 3 years ago. Visited my daughter in New Orleans just 5 days after Marti Gras last year. And always wanted to see Marti Gras in Rio.
But this year I'm finally going to make it. Leaving tomorrow morning with my Daughter to go to her 2nd home in New Orleans for 18 days. Its going to be crazy there as the Saints just got into the Super Bowl so we will be there during that as well.

JD, you have been selected by the short straw draw to accompany Lynn and make sure the shirt stays out and Lynn takes plenty of photos, Chris can cover the airfare I am sure for this event.

Went to one of Emeril's restaurants yesterday called NOLA. Incredible food and wines. Some of the wines we had were right from Alexander Valley in Napa where I go all the time.
This town is out of control with the Marti Gras Parades and the Saints in the Superbowl this year. Everyone here is so excited.
There are over 60 parades, 115 Balls (Black Tie only), 1200 floats, 600 bands, and a cast of thousands and thats just Arthur Hardys parades. There are other parades as well.
We are going to be in the Barkus Parade. Its a parade of dogs. My Daughter has 4 dogs and a float were making. We entered last night. Last year she won 1st place in her parade. She is also putting her Micro Mini Pot Belly Pig on the float. The pig is really smart and clean and is just like having another dog. She also has two miniature horses at home.
Everyone here is sayin "Who Dat" I finally found out what it means.

Today was amazing. A radio and television broadcaster known as Buddy D. once said that if the Saints ever went to the superbowl he would wear a dress. Sadly he died 5 years ago of a massive heart attack and never saw his dream come to fruition. Well about 10,000 men today honored him by putting on a dress and started a parade at the superdome and Bourbon street. It was pandamonium. My daughter and I are making a cut version of our combined videos shot during this and it will be on you tube soon. I will post it here when we finish it.
