To help celebrate the moment, I took a picture

Was clocked doing 100 in a 70 on the way to Vegas earlier this week. Thank god I was not in the construction zone because the fines would have been doubled. Ironically enough, I cruised the entire way at 80 until one spot where I wanted to get in front of a slow ass driver in the fast lane and a trucker going up a grade. I made my move and not 1 second after becoming neck and neck with the semi- there he was sitting with his door cracked and a radar gun pointed at me.

Btw on the way home, not 1 Nevada cop in sight. Instead, 10 CHP officers.

That's a really great idea. I'd love to see that one.

Frozie - sorry to hear about the ticket. However, you should've been able to get out of it by letting the officer browse through the pics on your iPhone for a few minutes...

I suppose it could have been worse. My first ticket came with three others!
- 50 in a 35 zone
- passing on the right
- expired plates
- expired driver's license

I had a valid excuse for each charge - but the judge didn't buy it.

Awwww bummer Jason! Doesn't a ticket just ruin your day? I still remember my first... and my last. That might be because it was only a few weeks ago though. DOH!

So... dare I ask... how much are they trying to take you to the cleaners for?

Hell, I was 16 when I got my first ticket. Speeding, right as I was trying to convince my parents that I needed to stick a V8 in my car (I did it shortly thereafter).

It was 53 in a 35, and ironically, the first truck I had when I started driving mixer was #5335.

Tinker,

Won't know until the papers show up (he didn't write on it how much) but after looking online at the violation code, it looks like it'll be around $390.

I'm getting a traffic lawyer though to see if he can get it knocked down or possibly thrown out all together.

Couldn't you try to explain to the judge how you were road testing the latest mod for that mega internet TV show hit called MoToRz? That ought to get you some leniency - right?

$390? OUCH! Hopefully they will squash it, seeing as you've never had a ticket before you might also have the option to defer it.

Good luck Jason!

This is California - we're out of money. They'll probably tack on another $50 in processing fees.

If it was California, isn't there a 171% fee added on for penalty assessment?
If it was in Nevada you got lucky.

Thats not bad. I was clocked 81 in a 65 on RT 50 Between DC and the Bay Bridge. Cost me 290 if I remember correctly. I was having issues with my Cruise control. I had to replace the brain because it would increase the speed, not shut off when the brake was applied or even not turn on at all. That cost me some coin. So after i was done...... probably around 400 bucks. I wasn't going to try and fight it. Who would have believed me.... even with the recept for the part. I was told by a DSP officer I know and he said I did not have a chance in court.

The one I got about a month ago was on my own damn street, they followed me all the way there.

The one I got on Saturday was on Pac Ave and 131st. I made my boyfriend drive the rest of the weekend, he seems to be able to get out of tickets.
