Here is my latest project. The second of three pieces requested by my Daughter for my Granddaughter. This crib is made from the cherry that I posted about a while back:

http://www.truckblog.com/forums/topic-7626-hobbies_adding_to_my_wood_pile

Same finish as the cradle, BLO followed by several coats of Formby's low gloss Tung Oil Finish, topped off with paste wax.

Here it is, in my spare room at home:

... delivered and set up with appropriate bedding:

When my Granddaughter gets a little older, the crib can be converted into a full size bed.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Jason, I have still not had a chance to try the artists paints technique yet.

It looks like I may have to close up the shop for a while. We should be receiving an offer on our house, hopefully within the next couple of days. Gotta pack it all up and get ready to move south!

Wow... just as gorgeous as your last piece! I'm sure your daughter is thrilled, I hope these stay in the family for many generations.

Good luck on the move Mark. I may be moving to a different state in a year or two. And I have a LOT of stuff lol.

So how are you planning to do it? Rent a uhaul? I have been wondering about those 'pods' style boxes that they will drop off and deliver to your new house.

Looks like the move is on hold once again. Our buyer emailed me last night saying that they are 'going in a different direction'.

When we do move (SOON), we plan to have a moving company come in. My daughter has used the PODS for her last couple of moves and that worked out real well for her. We just don't want the hassles and sore backs that come with packing boxes and furniture into the PODS. We will do all the packing and let the movers put our stuff onto the truck and deliver it to the new house.
