| Specs say 10,500 lbs on a bumper pull.
But just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
1. Brakes on the half ton are smaller. Yes, you have trailer brakes too, but just in case.
2. Larger axles increase strength, deal better with increased heat. Full floats have stouter bearins.
3. Fuel economy will actually suffer with 8k behind you. Probably drop deep into single digits with the 6.0 V8 gas motor. With a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel, you'll get 11-13 with an 8k trailer. | |
