So I'm hooking up my KC Daylighters that I have sitting around up to my van for this weekend's jaunt over the mountains. They're 100W bulbs, can I hook them up to my high beams so they turn on when I flip the high beam switch, or would that blow a fuse? If not, I'll just wire up a separate switch.

Thanks.

put a relay on it and it will work perfectly,....but.....it's against the law and you'll probably get a ticket if you ever use them on the road.

now stop being a dick bag,...and update the TBC standings...

I agree with Tank, run a wire off of your high beams to activate a relay. that way the load is only on the relay.

I also agree, update thte TBC standings. I'd do it, but I can't add.

So pretend I'm a retard - what size of a relay would I need?

And I'll get those standings updated soon.

If you wanted to get really fancy, you could have a switch AND a relay, so you could use the hi-beams with no KC's, hi-bemas w/ KC's or just run the KC's. I have no idea how to wire it up, but could probably figure it out. Google, here I come...

In this case, you would run a wire (through a switch if you wanted hi beams with no KC's) to your hi beam wire on one side. Scotch lock it, or get really fancy and solder and shrink wrap it.

I was drinking when I wrote this. What I meant was you can run the turn on lead through a switch, to post 86. sorry if that wasn't clear. I knew what I meant.

Cool, thanks for this link. It looks like there's a diagram of exactly what I need.

Thanks for the offer, Chris. If I don't get them hooked up in time to jet out of here tomorrow afternoon, I may take you up on it.
