| | I had a set of the Cooper STT's on my '94 F-350. They were great in the snow. They didn't last very long though. Got less than 30,000 miles out of them, but I did run them year round, 95% on dry pavement. | |

| OK here is my experience. I loved Goodyear. I used off road tires on my 86 Ford 4X4 for nearly 20 years. Even though I had complete blow outs due to the side walls blowing out at 110 miles per hour I stuck with them. Goodyear replaced them every time and I suppose they were never ment to go 110 MPH. Funny that each time they blew it was when I slowed down from that speed and they went at about 85 or 90. Never at top speed. This happened about 3 or 4 times.
Well finally I said no more after nearly dieing on my way to Sturgis with 140,000 dollars worth of Harleys in the back at night. I almost turned over.
So I went to BF Goodrich. They were far better and far cheaper. Given the tread design is very similar of those two I heartily suggest you go with BF Goodrich. I also used Coopers once and they were far better than Goodyear as well.
But I still use Goodyear regular street tires on my Yellow (Big Bird) 2002 F150.
One last thing. I have recently found out that there is a life to tires. YES A LIFE!!! I never knew this before. And some tire places will sell you a tire that only has about one year left on its life. Each tire has a code stamped in the sidewall. It will either be on the outside or on the inside of the tire. Its in a oblong circle on the sidwall. To determine when the tire was made you will see two numbers in that oblong circle. The first number is the number of the week of the year it was made. The next number is the year the tire was made. Your tires only have about a 6 year life before they become dangerous to drive on. So when you buy a new tire from anyone ask them to show you the date stamp on the tire when it was made so you dont buy a tire that is already 3 years old.
Many companies clear these tires at sale prices. You think your getting a great deal when all the time your buying a tire that has sat on the shelf for 3 to 4 or 5 years.
Here is an example of the code

In the example above: DOT EJ8J DFM 408 DOT EJ8J DFM 408 Manufactured during the 40th week of the year DOT EJ8J DFM 408 Manufactured during the 8th year of the decade |

| Denny, I want to say 16x10 but I dont think thats right. I will leave early for work today and borrow the rim guage at walmart and confirm it.
Ok Lets do this some one tell me how to set up a poll and you guys can vote on the tire you think will work best for me. Remember I do do alot of road travel but I want to start hitting some more open trails in the area and I sled pull so traction is a big factor for me. Its narrowed down to these tires BFG MT KM2 Toyos Cooper SST - I have found them in a 36x13 but they are more expensive but I think will look better on the truck. | |

| Hey Mark, when did you have Cooper STT's on your truck? They have changed the design in the last year or two to a Toyo M/t clone. From what I have heard the new ones are pretty good and I plan on buying a set come springtime.
I have the Kumhos right now, and plan on saving them for possible future sledpulling. Theres just enough tread left where they may be good for some sled pulls but theyre done for the street. They were a pretty good tire, but my 35 12.50 18's werent quite 35" tall. Going for some 325's next. Also the Kumhos are directional so you can only rotate front to rear. You have to keep a good eye on the pressures too. They wore hard in the middle, and so I dropped them from 50 to 45 psi and they got chopped. So I should have played more with the pressures and kept the rears lower except when towing.
So other than my mistakes, good tires. Even ran them in winter the first year and was impressed, especially for an MT.
