I'm disappointed that you blurred out Coe's cell phone number. That'd would've been great.

Thanks for this latest episode, Chris. I was in the middle of installing the same head unit in my '08 FX4 last Sunday when I noticed this was posted. I went with the Blackbird GPS. I liked the fact the GPS docks right in the HU. Today I picked another HU to install in the '88. I doubt I'll install backup cameras, but mounting a camera around the chassis will help to see what the suspension is doing.
A quick question. Do you think the factory Sirius sat antenna would work for the GPS external antenna? I ditched the sat stuff and now there is a useless black bump on the roof.

They seem to be completely different wires so I'd have to say it won't work, but you can always give it a shot!

Sirius allows you to run an external fm antenna if you're not using the small one that goes on the roof. You might want to call their support and ask, they're really cool and helpful.

I'm sure the factory sat antenna wouldn't work for the GPS, but you might be able to use the shell of the factory bump, if the GPS antenna can "see" through that plastic.
