the Fed also 'owns' millions of acres of land and enforces land use restrictions on many millions more as well....

Get rid of all the vehicles!

Make the FBI take the bus to the next kidnapping crime scene.

It's so easy to sensationalize these kinds of things with big numbers, supported by a few cherry picked examples. (Think Michael Moore) With the right statistics, you can make almost anything look bad or overpriced.

I'm sure there is some waste in those numbers and some areas where cutbacks can be made. Firing a driver for a cabinet level government worker is probably not the place to start.

Also remember that these high level officials are usually getting work done, while they are 'getting their asses carted around'. How much would it cost to hire additional people to do the work that they could not do while they were driving themselves all over hell? I'd like to see those numbers before saying that having a driver costs too much.

LOL...does anyone remember my thread....it's a perfect example of excessive waste.

I asked for a small $4,000 trailer to put my supplies in,..when I have to travel to do emergency repairs on the boats...

I ended up getting a $26,000 toyhauler, that I had to retro-fit into a workshop....and because it is to big for the truck I have...they bought me a big dually....

So....instead of spending $4,000 for what I wanted,...they spent over $70,000 in the end.

As of 10/1 the vehicle we have assigned to the office will be gone.

The facility will still have a motor pool, just with fewer vehicles.

Tank, what kind of truck did they end up buying you?

And since that is only .001% of the federal budget, somehow I'm not pissed of about that $3.4 billion. By contrast, that is almost what we spend in Iraq every week. But that is an entirely different blog.

Here are my thoughts on this. I of course like most i would assume cannot stand the fact that our government waste so much money and over spends and then wants to raise our freaking taxes.

But can i or you do a dam thing about it? Fuck No so why worry or concern yourself with shit that you have no control over.

The bottom line is this ALL Politicians are scumbags as far as I am concerned. They could give a rats fucking ass about us or anything we want or need and only care about thier Careers as evil no good pieces of shit.

Im afraid to ask.. but is there a breakdown? like how much they paid for what.. and how much of it is gas, etc..

do vehicles includes airplanes and airforce 1-5 for the president, vice-president etc

does it include all those heavily armored vehicles the government uses..

does it include any of the trains that are government owned..

thats what I would like to see a breakdown of.. before I go crazy about the pricetag

I'm shocked that they didn't do a custom paint job on the trailer and truck that they gave you tank's. you know like the coast guard colors or something that would cost a good penny. and to keep you from using it in covert operations of your own! LOL

Keep the ones that wish for higher taxes out of the white house and congress. Write you representatives and bitch about the pork belly spending. Enough people do it, it will change.

It won't change. Give me a break. If you were a representative and special interest XYZ took you and your family out to a world class restaurant 3 times a week, gave you a ton of campaign money, and made sure you were well taken care of. You say you'd change your thoughts because some small percentage of constituents complains to you?

Sure.. you'd placate them, but in the end you'd do what is right for YOU and not what is right for THEM or the country.

Welcome to politics. The ever evolving blame game.
