Well it might not be a new model but new or refurbed. I am looking for something with a little more options then my old samsung a717. You know like blackberry, palm treo, or some of the att/cingular brand pda phones. The ones I have been looking at are as follows,
AT&T / Cingular 8525 Cell Phone PDA
AT&T /CINGULAR HTC 8925 TILT PHONE
Pantech C810 Duo AT&T (Cingular)
I know the Blackberry 7280 is a big phone but it seems a little over my head for the basic day to day use. My girlfriend has the pearl and I cant stand the keyboard. Maybe just because I have not used it all that much. The roller ball is nice but too touchy for me. It just might need to be adjusted.
The Palm Centro and treo is another two I have been looking at.
Well this has gone long. What are your thoughts and suggestions and maybe a recommendation on one?

Do yourself a favor and steer far clear of ANYTHING with the PALM name on it.

I had the 8525 for over a year at work and it served me well, even when I dropped it frequently. It was replaced with a TILT, and it has some nice improvements over the 8525. But they are both solid phones.

I have a verizon xv6800

Very similar to the 8525. I love the phone, some websites dont work because of incompatability with internet explorer mobile etc, but for the most part its great. Other than having to deal with windows on your phone. Sometimes you press a button and nothing happens. I also installed an app that allows me to close programs instead of just minimizing them, to extend battery life.

What are your plans for he phone? Are you going to be using it for work or just to have added functions.
I know with the PDA phones you will be able to work on microsoft word prodgams even edit them. surf the net and alot of other functions.

When I was looking at PDA phones. I thought about the one you have listed and others. I ended up gettting a Samsung Blackjack smart phone. It dose pretty much of what the the PDA phone dose. I just have a few less options, like edditing word ducuments but I can still open them up and view. The are a few other I just can't thinl of at thos time.
I am making this post right now from my phone. When my contract comes up for renewal I will be upgrading to the Blackjack 2.

Besides the normal texting, I do alot of texting hence the keyboard, I do get alot of emails that require quick responces to the email. While my samsung 717 is nice there is a few things I can't stand. First the volume of the ear speaker is crap. I put it on speakerphone more then I use the ear speaker. And the inability to convert certain things on the phone. And a few other stupid personal issues not to mention I just want to move up in the world and join the times.

Not for me, or many other people I've talked to. I send and receive hundreds of business emails a day. About 1/4 of those are from my blackberry.

The iPhone keyboard has no tactile feedback and I found is slowed my wpm rate by about 1/2.

Then there is the still unproven Exchange support and other limitations. I just don't see it as a business tool yet.

The exchange support is being fixed with the 2.0 software update come this Friday. As for the key feedback, I did think it was weird at first going from my MotoQ to the keyless glass, but I actually find myself typing faster on the iphone than my previous Q.

It did take several days for adjustment though.

Gentleman Jack,
I thought the new Iphone was reasonably priced?

Anyway I just have a small phone (Razr 3XXX)

It will go on the internet with G3 technology and I need something that I can take the sim card out of when Im in Europe or other parts of the world. That way I can use a local sim card and save a lot of money.

The first Iphone you were not able to remove the sim card and I dont know if you can on the new Iphone or not.

Well I got the new phone. I can say I love it. I'm getting used to all the features. There are a few that I don't know if I will ever use on a phone, excel for one but hey you never know. There might be a loose wire on the external speaker, but I'm not going to tear into it right now. Its used so I'm not too worried about it. The touchscreen is awesome and the keyboard will take some time to get my speed back up but I'n not complaining. I will post a picture soon.

I just want a phone, NO: flip, camera, texting, internet access, musical ringtones, FM radio, MP3, and no buttons on the side, nothing except bluetooth capabilities. Is that too much to ask?

Nope.

That's too little to ask. Unless you go with a pre-paid.
