After a few hooks to the sled, busted the ladder bars off!

Bars are from Off Road Unlimited, manufactured by Daystar/Four Real Steel:

They never did deal well with the fore-aft movement of the axle under load...did keep the pinion angle in check though.

http://www.truckblog.com/story-1304-how_to_install_four_real_steel_traction_bars

Now, time for the full meal deal - Traction Blocks from One Up Off Road:

http://www.oneupoffroad.com/ouoparts/tractionblocks.html

We're gonna R&D a custom setup that will incorporate custom air bag mounts (I've been meaning to get airbags for the Rockstar), which will help with sled pulling a LOT.

They're not your typical airbags, and they've got 12" travel, and won't tear when you cycle the suspension.

first set of those ive seen break. A lot of twisting force on those triangulated bars.

Next time don't use tape to secure them on the axle Denny.

Just kidding man...OUO is the way to go. Your truck is going to be even more of a beast once you get it set up.

LOL, Running the ORU Bars on CAD, it was just a matter of time before they failed, you'll definitely like the OneUpOffroad system way better, I have a guy up here that pulls his supped up, stack out the hood, monster Dodge and they haven't failed yet, good choice.

yeah, no doubt...Dave's an awesome guy to work with, and I can't wait.

Sled pulling puts a ton of torque on the axle and the mounts.

The floating design doesn't work well, as it doesnt pin down the axle.

I thought something looked different. Looks great now that I know what it is.

And the bars look good also. Those are completely different than the pair I helped install.

It's a 6" block, 5.5* pinion angle block.

I've got a Dana 80 rear axle (4" tubes).
