HELP!!! I just got a Clarion MAX685 and a NAZ970 navigation unit. The installation was going smoothly until I read that the navigation unit needs to tap into the vehicle speed sensor wire. Where in the hell do i find that up in the cab or under the hood? Please help. 2001 F150 screw 4WD 5.4 automatic.

I have a Pioneer Avic Z2 and it had the same thing. Tapping into the VSS wire makes the unit more accurate, but if you don't do it, it should still work. I never did find where it was so I never did it and mine works fine.
Sorry no help, but just giving you a heads up. If you do find it post up.

I have heard that the grey/black wire in the original audio plug is for the speed sensor, I just don't want to burn this expensive SOB up. thanks for the input.

Well, after I got it plugged up and almost all back together, I found out that was the right wire. whew! On the original radio plugs, the one you don't use, its the grey wire with a black stripe.
