I just talked with Todd Horne CEO of TEN Networks on the phone. He has told me that the new company that is managing the Truck worlds is under going a upgrade and working with microsoft. They have invested $400,000+ into new computer equipment and the site will be down nutil the upgrade is complete. They is no date but it will be soon. He also told me that the company will be announcing there ownership very shorty of the Ten Network Sites and only the sites not the network. The company name is called Internet Pioneers. I have a contact number for Todd if anyone wants it.

I am beginning to wonder if it will come back online. Been about a week now without it being on.

You know, I won't miss it one bit. Hopefully everyone comes over here and then this site will be really fun, just like the old days!

All the Ten sites are down the same way...

This seems like a recipe for how NOT to upgrade your site: (1) Spend a ton of money on a bunch of new stuff, (2) Take your site down unexpectedly, leaving thousands (hundreds? tens?) of users in the dark about what is going on, without phasing the updated machines in in any way. It's all or nothing, baby! (3) Make sure that when you DO start talking about what is going on, don't give any firm dates. In fact, just say you don't know when exactly it will be back up. Meanwhile, pretend that your users won't find some other place to call home while you * around with your new equipment.

The only way they could improve on this is to lose all the old posts up to now.

Anyway, I'm glad that I can still talk to my friends through other, more reliable, sites like this one!

With $400,000, I could build an entire datacenter, not just a server cluster. Give me a break...

I haven't been on FTW as much as I used to. I probably come here as much as I did there. That isn't saying much for my participation here.

If it truly doesn't come back -

Will I miss the site? Hell No!
Who would miss mass bombardment with pop-ups, adware, and constant neglect of the membership by owners.

Will I miss the people I know there - Hell Yes!
I have started an e-mail campaign to get the one's I do know to start becoming active here.

If the site does come back -

I sure hope some attention will be given to rectify member issues and complaints. Am I confident that will happen? Hell No!

I mean look at the way they handled this "Upgrade".

TA, I would have thought that the post that I put up in the General Forums area would have clued them in some. But, obviously not. I guess putting up a temporary screen that says that the site will be down for a few days for upgrades is too much to give to its members. It is really tempting to just not come back. Granted, I seem to get a lot more of the technical stuff that I am after there vice finding it elsewhere. Granted, it is getting harder and harder to get solid responses out of there.

We'll see. I have a lot of friends over there, so, we'll see.

It's good to see some of you other guys coming over here. I've been on F150online.com a little bit to try to find some of you but have had little success. I hope it's back up and running soon but I think I might spend a little time over here as well. Thankfully, I can access this site at work also.

Yeah, FTW wasn't all that much help. It ended up being a lot of people parading their shit around, and asking the same questions time and time again, and getting photochop work done.

It ended up eating up a lot of my time...

But, Terry's got it right...some of the folks there are definately cool...and I'm glad I got to meet them.

Careful... it's against the rules for members to be "recruiting" for another site. Atleast that's what they told me

This whole thing has sure been interesting....

Chris it was people like you that actually offered help for issues, so now that we have people here actually willing to help and give advice on things, we don't really need FTW anymore. As long as keep this a good community that helps each other things will go great.
