All I'm waiting for now is the filter/water separator kit to come in.


(2) 14 gallon rolling fuel tanks
12volt diesel fuel transfer pump...which I'm wiring into my trailer plug instead of clamping it to my battery.
and I have a 8 gallons of 2 cycle to get me started.

Shouldnt you paint the tanks black so theyre less noticable at night while youre filling up lol

Whats the draw on the pump? Is the aux power in the trailer plug strong enough to handle that amperage?

The pump is says its a 20amp...I've heard of people running transfer pumps from the trailer plug before....but for some reason...it is the only thing I didn't investigate before I stated this project.



SO...doesn't anyone know how much power/amps the 7 pin trailer package on a 2005 can handle?

Whats the scoop with the jet fuel.

I had a co worker that was getting Jet fuel fopr free, they would pump ther tanks from the planes dry after they landed to remove condensation. and put it in 55 gallon drums, that had to pay to dispose of it so he would take it for free. added some 2 cycle and had good luck for a while. Man that stuff was hard on seals.

The battery lead on the 7 pin connector is rated for 50 amps as I recall. It is there to recharge a battery located on a trailer. So, it will easily handle the transfer pump. Just make sure to tap into the battery lead, not another lead as no other lead in the 7 pin connector will handle the transfer pump.

wow 50a? didnt seem like the gauge of wire was that large last time I was in there. I guess the easy way would be to look in the book and see what size fuse powers it.

That's easy Jay. The diagram is right on the lid of the 7way plug on your truck. Just look at your owners manual for the fuse rating.

6.0L = weedwacker


The last weed I "whacked"...was 18 feet tall...I hit it with such force it snapped in 3 places.....I'll never forget that night....lol

We drain a mason jar out of our Jet Fuel trucks every morning that goes into a bowser to be disposed of later. It's a total waste, to me.

There are some minor differences....but basically...that it.

JP8 has additives to "suspend" the water in the fuel....so you have to filter the water out.

JP8 had less BTU's than diesel...but it's not very much...but technically,..on paper...there will be a slight loss in power/mileage.

JP8 doesn't have the lubricity that diesel has...have to add 5%(cumulative) 2 cycle to the JP8 to gain back the lost lubricity.


Soooo....filter the water out, and add some 2 cycle....bang...you have diesel.
