I've been too distant from here for too long. Got too distracted with the 'stangs and work. I'm working on getting the truck back home and back together, as soon as I find time.

For those of you who don't know, I left Houston after DI performance had their issues, and I now work offshore doing H2S safety. Basically I sit on platforms and rigs and watch tv, eat, and collect a check.

I have acquired a Bullitt Mustang, #3353 of 5582, from Katrina that is slowly getting restored. I got an awesome deal on it and it only needs the electronics replaced, just finding time to do it is tough. It has no rust, no mold, all the interior was redone prior to my purchasing it, and it only has 19k miles on it!

I've also transformed the 02 v6 stang into a little killer. I recently got ahold of all my new body parts, and will start building the new engine sometime this summer. plan to get around 550-600hp to the wheels with the 6! I'm taking the 3.8 and boring and stroking it to 4.3 and slapping an Eaton M112 from a Termi on top. I plan to get it stage 5 p&p from Steigemeier so I can run around 16psi at the track and daily it a around 10psi.

And the truck is coming in last. As soon as the 6er is done I plan to buy a new truck, mainly so I can tow the stang to and from the track. I've been shopping for an extended cab FX2 in black with black leather and the sunroof and all that stuff, so I'm getting excited all over again. I plan to keep it fairly stock other than a few bolt-ons, intake exhaust, programmer, mainly to make towing duties a little better. But who knows, I can never leave well enough alone with any vehicle I purchase. The Bullit is the only car I own, and only car I've ever owned that will stay completely stock.

Wow that six is going to be straining its guts out to reach 550/600 HP.

Would it not be cheaper to drop a V8 in it?

Welcome back.

It sure would, but not nearly the challenge. I'm sure Elvira's engine would propel a 3200lb Mustang a lot faster than your 5000lb Lightning, but you wouldn't get the satisfaction of a grey-haired retired guy in a pickup truck handing a beating to punk teenagers in turbo-ed Acuras.

Same philosophy, different methods.

Actually, the cost of building either of them is about the same, since anytime you go for that much power so much stuff is getting upgraded anyway.

There are a few 10 and 9 sec v6 stangs out there, very few. I wanted to do the 6 mainly because it's soooo much more fun to beat a Z06 in V^, and blow the retirement watches right off the guys in their vette's. I'm not as concerned about running 9's or 10's as I am with having gobs of streetable, reliable power. mainly just to be different, and i think it'll be a really nice little show piece.

The engine will be fully forged, I may end up upgrading to a whipple or kenne bell later on. It'll be able to handle it, so long as I don't get too excited lol. It's gonna be water/meth with a maybe even a 50 shot of juice to keep it cool as well.

That's what its all about. I haven't been to a car show in a while, mainly because I've seen just about all the red 69 Camaros there are to see. Sure, I'd buy one in a second, but what else ya got?

here's a few pics of the stangs as well. The 6'er has gone through a few changes lol
This is the bullit the day it was dropped off

The 6er, from day one to it's present condition.

Now the car should be going back to houston as soon as I get back on land to get the "true fire" done in black. The a-pillars, c-pillars, and roof will be black as well, and the Mineral Grey base color will be retained. I have the Termi side skirts, which are just smooth, instead of having the little running board, just haven't had time to install them.

The hood is a Kaenen Fiberglass 4 1/2" cowl, and I HIGHLY recommend them, absolute perfect fit, extremely light, yet very strong, no more flex than a stock fiberglass hood.

What is the deal with the (view image), that's kinda aggravating?

Welcome back.
Also, according to my T-Bird friends, the V6 is a better platform for road racing do to the lighter front end weight.
