Closing Weekend at Mt. Baker is kind of a big thing. It's more of an event unto itself. Tailgating, bonfires, campouts...the whole works. No expense is spared...except when you live on an instructor's salary, when nothing can be afforded. Even then, we make do with what we can. So...as usual, the photos do the talking...

Nothing says party like a big ass bonfire. I loaded up the truck up to the bedsides with wood...and then proceeded to start drinking. Heavily. This half gallon flask mysteriously showed up...

And showed up again..this time, with John at the helm. Note the guy in the read hoodie for later...

Some instructors came out from Mission Ridge, after their resort closed. And...they brought BEER PONG.

After a few rounds of Beer Pong...

...Ally was quite...er....happy.

Remember the guy in the red hoodie? That's Nick. Nick wasn't feeling that great in the morning.

Here's the crew as we made our last few turns. Yep...it's Tigger! (Costume courtesy of Jason...we love Jason.) So get this - I going mach speed down the banked turns under Chair 8, and one set of S curves through me in for a loop. I was NOT set up for the next turn, and instead of running high and scrubbing of speed, I shot off the bank, cleared the orange "Out of Bounds" rope, and into a dense set of trees. Holy cow I was lucky...I seriously thought a tree was going to stop me from tumbling. The best part was hearing people talk about "Dood, did you see that Tigger went flying out into the trees and wrecked!" later in the day, when I ditched the suit.)

Check out these hotties on the hill! All the way over from Mother Russia!!!

Holy crap, the party was nuts...I don't know when I passed out, but I woke up to someone puking...puking like a champ!

I was like "holy crap, he's still puking?!"

The next day, I only managed to get in about 8 runs, then packed up my stuff. It was nuts. Then, back to bloody mary's, hanging out in the parking lot, and swapping stories.

The suit was hotter 'n shit...I was about melting....

Hot? Man, it had snowed the weekend before...at SEA LEVEL...WTF...

That'd be awesome if it snowed one more time..in May. That'll set then global warming fckrs straight...

Yeah, as much as I like crawfish, friend foods, BBQ, and Shiner Bock, I love snow that much more...

Haha..thanks for the fun message.

Yeah, I work at Baker as a Snowboard Instructor. It has been a great season, and I any and all of you guys to come up and give Baker a run. I should have extended this invitation when the season started...it kind of slipped my mind....must've been the booze.

I'm not certain that I'm going to teach next season, we shall see. Nonetheless, I've found a new home mountain...and some cool cats to ride up here. So come up, and enjoy the festivities.

(This invititation is good for next season too...if you can remember!)
