That looks like a pretty good idea. The tires on the Wife's Mustang need to be checked quite often. They just don't seem to be able to hold the pressure. She doesn't pay much attention to those kinds of things, and by the time I notice, they are usually pretty low, like 20psi. At least with these things on there she would have a visual cue that something needs to be checked.

$6.00 a wheel is a little pricey, but if they improves mpg, they will pay for themselves in short order.

I've seen those before. You can buy them with different psi settings I believe.

You set the tire pressure you want to run and install the caps. They then are set.

Really? That's different then....so the cap works with any psi you choose to run? How does it do that?

This is what the website selling them says.

Quote:
The VECSAFE Valve Cap is self-calibrating. When the cap is mounted on the valve stem the first time, it will memorize that tire pressure.

I'm so lazy I didn't click the link, but I hope that the LED is off when the pressure is correct. I doubt it would be legal for a light to swirl around on your tires at night.

Except the soonest they go off is 8psi under the set limit. I guess thats better than no warning. And cheaper than a system that monitors the actual pressure on a display

I found them while i was searching for a simple LED to mount in a few locations. Found these, might invest in a few for some cheap under body lights.

Ive heard of those some time ago but never got them. Its a sound idea.

As I have a compressor in my garage I keep a pretty close eye on tire pressure.

Well for me it would be perfect. I look at the tires but I always seem to forget my pressure guage and its an expensive one from craftsman. Its digatal and is an easy thing to use. Plus it has a sweet led built in. This is the other place I found LEDs.
