I am having a serious problem and wonder if anyone else has encountered this problem.
Last weekend i tried to use my 4x4 and it would not engage. When I got home i laid under the truck and can hear the actuater engaging. The idiot light comes on for 4x4 but not for low range. You can feel a popping as if the front is wanting to engage but not falling into sync. Today I went out and tried to chase the vacuum lines but could not find the one that goes into the hubs to lock them in. Switched the hubs manually and it is still not locking up. Is there anyway to check the transfer case to make sure the chain did not break? Can I pull a vaccum on the hubs to see if the problem is there and if so which one of the two hoses is it. 3 hoses but one is brake and have no idea what the other two are. Please Help

You should have two lines on the back side of your knuckle. One is your break line the other is the vacum line. As for the t-case. If its clunking I dont know what to tell you. If your trying to put in in low are you in "N"? Mine won't go into that untill I'm in "N". Also how hard is your hubs to turn? Mine were almost impossible and it turned out one was trash and would not engage so I had no 4x4. That is the best I have for you right now.

if the light comes on for 4x4 then it is not vacuum related.

If you cant get into LOW then it is transfer case related in my opinion.

if you get 4x4 high and no 4x4 low, it has nothing to do with the hubs

good luck, kenny
